![]() In dense brush, I use the crossbow because of the increased precision but this is generally when I plan on hunting from a static position and when I know I can draw a target to that area. I use both a compound bow and crossbow depending on the terrain and what I'm hunting. I respect your opinion regardless and glad I can share with other archers since I don't know many personally.įellow bowhunter here. But I love all methods honestly and I thought I'd throw my hat in since I believe xbows are cooler. I don't really like the difficulty argument by anyone unless they're a die hard traditional archery, I got nothing on them. The retaining tension on compounds is only a fraction of the draw weight as you know and I simply don't find it that much more or less challenging. The only difficulty in a compound is not making noise when drawing back, but you can get the same experience I guess if you wait to draw your crossbow until the last moment. All I have is a red dot on my crossbow and frequently see more tech on compound bows than on my hunting rifle. I have to disagree, I use crossbow, a compound hoyt, and recently got back into recurve although not for hunting because I'm not skilled enough at this time to ethically kill with it.
